KISS is out on tour as we speak, but we wanted to share a few fun facts about the boys in the band you may not have known. We’ll call this out ‘KISS Korner.’
There have been 10 members of the band over the decades, yet only two of the members ever used their real birth names, Bruce Kulick and Tommy Thayer. Gene Simmons was born Chaim Witz, and Paul Stanley was born Stanley Bert Eisen. Peter Criss came into this world as George Peter John Criscuola, while Ace Frehley was born Paul.
Canadian rocker Bryan Adams co-wrote two of KISS’ best songs, “War Machine” and “Rock and Roll Hell,”
The Z Z or what critics have said was too similar to Nazi Germany’s Schutzstaffel (the boys claim the letters are patterned after thunderbolts) all posters, T-Shirts, and advertising has always been modified in Germany for obvious reasons.
Finally, ‘Married With Children’ actress Katy Sagal can be found as a backup singer on the Gene Simons 1978 solo album, She was a singer in her early days, and you can hear her voice on songs ranging from Bob Dylan to Bette Midler. Hard to believe, but she’s also on a Molly Hatchett song.
