The Great Tim Duncan Retires from NBA

If you haven’t heard by now, Tim Duncan, formerly of the San Antonio Spurs, has announced that he is retiring from basketball. The first pick of the 1997 NBA Draft has had an amazing career and is widely regarded as one of the best power forwards ever.

Spending 19 years with the Spurs is an amazing feat and with them he won 1,072 games and five NBA Championships (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014). He was a three-time NBA Finals MVP, two-time NBA MVP, and one time NBA All Star Game MVP.

The accolades don’t end there though. He was a 15-time NBA All Star and much of his dominance was on the defensive end. He was an eight-time All-Defensive First Team member and seven-time All-Defensive Second Team member. From a statistical standpoint, he is retiring averaging 19 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.17 blocks per game.

Tim Duncan you will be missed, but we wish you best in your retirement.
