Chuck Barris, the man who created the TV game shows ‘The Dating Game,’ ‘The Gong Show’ and ‘The Newlywed Game,’ has died the age of 87.
Chuck Barris was also an author, writing ‘Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,’ his memoir in the late 90s, becoming a Hollywood Movie of the same name. Perhaps his imagination was in overdrive in this project, as Chuck intimated that was a spy for the CIA while working in television.
Hit life was filled with incredible highs, such as earning international acclaim for his work in TV, and terrible lows, battling lung cancer in the 90s and losing his daughter Della to a drug overdose in 1998 at the age of 36. In all Chuck walked down the aisle three times, Mary his third wife at his side, as he died of natural causes Tuesday.
Chuck Barris, entertainer, author, politically incorrect television genius, and perhaps spy for the CIA, lived to the max.
