The Book Club’s Candice Bergen is Still a Star

Rarely does Hollywood film come along that features as accomplished actors as the film ‘Book Club’ which opens in a few weeks. The film stars Candice Bergen, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia, Jane Fonda, Richard Dreyfuss, and Mary Steenburgen. Let’s put the spotlight on Candice Bergen today.

Candice Bergen came from Hollywood royalty, born the daughter of Edgar Bergen, a world-renowned actor, ventriloquist, and comedian. She was a bankable actress well before her ‘Murphy Brown’ days, breaking onto the scene with her legendary role in the Steve McQueen film ‘The Sand Pebbles’ in 1966.

Candice’s roles in ‘Carnal Knowledge’ and ‘Starting Over’ solidified her career in Hollywood, but yes her lead in the popular television series ‘Murphy Brown’ earned her Primetime Emmy’s, Golden Globes and SAG awards.
