Bruce Springsteen has received a special Tony for his Broadway show that has been selling out since last year, and this honor made up think of the best songs from the ‘Boss’ that we would need if ever stranded on a desert island…
“Born to Run,” the LP and the title track show how an artist can change the course of music in a decade, as this album broke sales and charts records. Check out “10th Avenue Freezeout” for vintage 70s Springsteen.
“Blinded By the Light” from his ‘Greetings from Asbury Park’ album was not a commercial hit for Bruce, but was a chart-topper for Manfred Mann a few years later.
“Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)” and “The E Street Shuffle” from the album ‘The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle proved to be cult hits for his early fans.
“Brilliant Disguise” from the 1987 Tunnel of Love album, “Glory Days” and “My Hometown” were post-70s tunes that served him well.
