There can be little debate about the significance and influence of the Beatles, from their Ed Sullivan appearance in February of 1964, to their eventual breakup just a few years later. We thought we’d share a list of the books worthy of purchasing for that someone special as a stocking stuffer this holiday season.
‘The Beatles: The Authorized Biography,’ by Hunter Davies was published in 1968, one of the earliest attempts to open up the mystic of the Fab Four.
‘The Love You Make: An Insider’s Story of the Beatles,’ by Peter Brown and Steven Gaines was written in 2002 by Peter, former close friend of the band who had a great deal of access to the group.
‘Love Me Do! The Beatles’ Progress,’ by Michael Braun was written in the early days of the Beatles, pulling back the curtain on this epic group.
‘Dreaming the Beatles: The Love Story of One Band and the Whole World written by Rob Sheffield has been called the best Beatles book ever written, penned in 2017. It received the 2017 Virgil Thomson Award for Outstanding Music Criticism.
