The Least Known Member of the Beatles – George Harrison

George Harrison would have celebrated his 74th birthday this past February 25th. Of all the Beatles, he may be the one we know the least about. Why not take this time during a slow news day to dive into this great musician?

George he was one of four children; his mum was a shop assistant, his dad a ship steward on the infamous ‘White Star Line.’ Given all we know about the early lives of the other Beatles members, George’s family was perhaps the most stable.

Did you know that George’s sister was living in America in the late 50s, so George was the first Beatle to come to America? George was a first in many other ways; the first to meet a President, the first to do solo album, and the first to embrace another religion as a member of the band.

Although we lost George in 2001, he’s still in the news. His sports car, a Porsche 928, is about to be auctioned off in a few weeks, expecting to generate a tremendous amount of money. As luck would have it, the current owner bought the car in 2003, not knowing who the original owner was. The man’s wife found the log book and discovered it was once owned by George.
