In the late 70s and 80s, Americans fell in love with Australia, given the country felt like such an exotic destination. Boy, did we love those accents! In the late 70s, a group out of Melbourne, Australia called ‘The Little River Band’ blew onto the charts with a mixture of pop and rock that demanded a ton of airplay.
The Little River Band’s first ‘Top 20’ American hit was a tune called “Help Is on Its Way” followed by “Cool Change,’ and “Reminiscing.’ ‘LRB’ is in the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame, inducted in 2004.
