Suge Knight Criticizes Snoop Dogg’s Role in Tupac’s Legacy Amid AI Controversy

Suge Knight, the controversial former CEO of Death Row Records, has again stirred up longstanding tensions in the rap community by blaming Snoop Dogg for Tupac Shakur’s tragic end. On his podcast, Collect Call, Knight discussed the recent use of AI-generated vocals on Drake’s diss track “Taylor Made,” which targets Kendrick Lamar but also controversially features voices similar to Tupac and Snoop Dogg.

Knight expressed his disapproval of the song’s concept, especially the inclusion of Snoop Dogg, whom he accuses of contributing to Tupac’s downfall. “Then putting him on a song with Snoop, who was a part of his downfall and exit, ain’t ever a good look,” Knight stated, emphasizing that Tupac was a major figure, not just a pawn in the industry.

His remarks further delve into the complexities of relationships within the rap industry, particularly pointing to Snoop Dogg’s connection with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Knight highlighted the irony in Snoop’s alliances, considering Combs was the CEO of Bad Boy Records, home to The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac’s rival before his death.

Knight, who is currently serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, reiterated his points about loyalty and betrayal in the music business. His comments have reignited discussions about the intricate and often strained ties that shaped the golden era of West Coast rap and its aftermath.
