Stacy London, the renowned style icon from “What Not To Wear,” recently opened up about her journey of coming out in today’s more accepting society. At 55, London continues to thrive in her relationship with her girlfriend of over six years, Cat Yezbak.
London publicly revealed her relationship with Cat in 2019 after they had been together for a year. Reflecting on societal progress, London noted how terms like pansexual and bisexual now allow people to feel seen, a stark contrast to the limited vocabulary available in the ’50s and ’60s. “I came out at 48. I love the fact that people can say the words pansexual, bisexual and have it be a spectrum,” she shared.
Identifying herself has been an evolving process for London. She expressed a desire to embrace the term “lesbian” to showcase the diversity within the lesbian community. “I feel like I want to say lesbian because there aren’t enough of us,” she said.
The possibility of marriage with Cat is also on the horizon. “Maybe!” London said when asked about the future. “We have talked about it, we’ll see.”
London’s revelation about her relationship with Cat in 2019 was a significant moment. She addressed it openly on Instagram after a Twitter user highlighted the news. In her post, she candidly discussed her relationship and the importance of privacy, while also acknowledging the privilege she has in coming out.
“2019 has been a crazy year for lots of reasons… But as with most of life, there has been such incredible joy as well and the person most responsible for that is @catyezbak, who is my girlfriend and has been for over a year,” London wrote. She emphasized the importance of love and support within the LGBTQ+ community and the privilege she has in openly expressing her love for Cat.
Stacy London rose to fame on TLC’s “What Not To Wear” in 2003, co-hosting alongside Clinton Kelly for a decade until the show’s end in 2013.
