You’re on the road, the top of the convertable is down, a great song jumps from your car radio. You reach for the volume and crank it up to 11. Yup, some songs are ‘Feel Good’ or ‘Oh Yea’ songs, which is why you love listening to your favorite radio station. Here is a brief list of songs we think make you feel so good…
“Eminence Front” by the Who is a wonderful travel/road trip car song, especially at dusk.
“Dancing in the Dark” by Bruce Springsteen reminds you of that girl that jumps on stage at the end of the song. You later find out that the girl in the video was Courteney Cox. It’s a great visual to go with a great song.
“Beach Baby” by First Class was a mid-70s song that combined the rich harmonies of the surf sound with 1st class production. Lead singer Tony Burrows was also the front man for the Edison Lighthouse, White Plains, the Pipkins and the Brotherhood of Man. His claim to fame is being the voice of five groups that had ‘One Hit Wonders.’
“Jackie Blue” by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils just reminds you of the good ol days.
Michael Sembello’s “Maniac” is fabulous. Sure, we could have mentioned Irene Cara’s “Flashdance (What a Feeling),” but “Maniac” is our feel good choice. Crazy right?
