Soft Cell Says Goodbye at O2 Concert This Sepember

Here’s a music fact we’re pretty sure you didn’t know; the hit song “Tainted Love” by the 80s ‘Soft Cell’ is not an original, but a cover of the ‘Four Preps’ song sung by Gloria Jones from 1964! How’s that for new info?

The other piece of news that’s new to you is that the group is reuniting in London’s O2 Arena on September 30th for their farewell concert. Marc Almond the lead singer has been touring the world singing the song, but it will be September 30th that the entire group will be on stage to sing that song and say goodbye.

Well, Soft Cell has spent the last 30 years living off that one hit, a song that hit number one in the UK, top 10 in the US, and top 25 in over 30 countries. Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love” was listed as the number five song in tanking the VH1’s 100 greatest one-hit wonders of the 1980s.
