On Tuesday, August 6, masked metal legends Slipknot kicked off their 25th-anniversary tour with a powerful performance at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indianapolis. The band delivered a brutal fourteen-song set, focusing exclusively on tracks from their early years, celebrating a quarter-century since their groundbreaking debut album.
“Nothing you will hear tonight was written after 1999,” announced frontman Corey Taylor to enthusiastic cheers. True to his word, the setlist was a nostalgic trip, opening with a ferocious trio of “(sic),” “Eyeless,” and “Wait And Bleed.” The band continued to delve into their classic catalog, resurrecting tracks like “No Life” and fan favorite “Scissors,” neither of which had been performed live since 2000. Other rare gems included “Get This” (last played in 2019), “Me Inside” (2015), and “Only One” (2012).
To enhance the old-school vibe, Slipknot donned their iconic red boiler suits, a nod to their classic era, and wore vintage-style masks. Corey Taylor’s particularly horrifying mask added a touch of nostalgia and terror, thrilling the audience.
This launch marks the beginning of a global tour celebrating Slipknot’s enduring legacy, with the band paying homage to their roots and delighting fans with a setlist packed with early hits.
