Michael Jackson lived a highly unusual life, from his early days as a young man with the Jackson 5, to his incredibly successful solo career in the 80s and 90s. Controversy followed Michael in life, and now it follows him in death.
Sky TV, one of the biggest television networks in the UK had created a biography/drama about the singer’s life, which is a portion of a lengthy series, entitled ‘Urban Myths,’ airing on Sky Arts. Actor Joseph Fiennes had portrayed Michael in the project, but the family reaction was one of outrage, causing Sky TV to pull the episode.
The episode in particular was the behind the scenes story of Michael on a road trip from New York to Los Angeles with longtime pals Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson’s daughter, told the press that witnessing Fiennes star as her father literally made her sick.
Michael Jackson who died in 2009 at the age of 50, his estate continues to earn over $100 million dollars per year in licensee and royalty fees.
