Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, NF, Khalid, Marshmello, Tyga, Shawn Mendes, G-Eazy and Ella Mai teamed up for a great cause when they took the stage in Los Angeles on Saturday night (Oct. 20) to support the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) during the sixth annual “We Can Survive” concert.Presented by 97.1 AMP, “We Can Survive” is a Radio.com event that helps to raise funds for YSC’s efforts to help support young women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Meghan Trainor was interviewed by Billboard backstage, and shared why she was so deeply inspired by the event. “I recently went to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and I went to their Music Therapy section,” she told Billboard. “They had a person who was very ill and couldn’t speak. Before they learned how to speak again — they would sing, they would finish a sentence through a song. I was close to tears. That’s some crazy science right there. But music is a cure and can cure.”
