The ‘Cooperstown’ of music, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, announced its 2018 nominees list a few weeks ago; 19 total candidates are now eligible, and nine have been nominated for the very first time.
One of the nominees is the soulful 70s group Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. The band Rufus was a popular club band out of Chicago in the late 60s and early 70s, but hit it big with the addition of very talented singer Chaka Kahn who would eventually earn 10 Grammy’s during her career. Rufus and Chaka Kahn hit the charts with great songs like “Tell Me Something Good”, “Ain’t Nobody,” and “Sweet Thing.”
The Rock and Hall of Fame will announce its 2018 class this December, with the actual induction ceremonies scheduled for Cleveland April 14, 2018.
