Four years ago the great Roy Halladay retired from baseball. He retired a four-time Cy Young Award winner and one that had thrown a perfect game in his career. It is with a heavy heart that we talk today about him passing away just yesterday due to a plane crash.
Halladay was flying a plane when complications occurred in the Gulf of Mexico. There is no reason as to why the plane went down, but Halladay did have his pilot’s license. He was flying an ICON A5 when this all happened.
Many of his former teammates and opponents posted on social media about his passing like Ryan Howard, Chipper Jones, and Chase Utley. Roy Halladay is certainly in our thoughts at this time. He was just 40 years old.
