A few weeks ago, we shared that longtime rocker and singing sensation Rod Stewart was having an auction. The event was a bit unusual, in that up for bid was not the typical items rockers move, guitars, lyric sheets, tour gear and more. The items up for bid in this auction was furniture, more than 40 lots featuring 19th-century wall mirrors, Victorian leather armchairs, gilt bronze side tables a leopard-print lounge chair, and more.
The auction generated over $100,000 in cash, including $6,000+ for mirrors, side tables that generated nearly $10,000 and over $15,000 for smaller items Rod displayed in his mansion. Rod did sell a number of autographed auction catalogs for large sums of money that was donated to local children’s charities.
