According to tasteofcountry.com, Rita Wilson latest work has her releasing a single featuring Josh Groban, joining her on her own version of “Songbird,” originally released in 1977 by Fleetwood Mac. According to Wilson, “‘Songbird’ by Christine McVie has always been a song that has gone straight to my soul, The simplicity of the lyric and melody makes it so powerful. It’s as if you’re eavesdropping on the most intimate of conversations.” Wilson and Groban chose to keep the song simple as far as instrumentals go, so that the song further highlights their voices, which pair together wonderfully. Wilson went on to further explain about the song in saying that, “Singing this as a duet with Josh Groban allowed the imaginary conversation I had in my head to live with these two lovers, who may have been experiencing this exchange for the first time in their lives,” Details on Wilson’s upcoming project haven’t been released yet, however, a new album is expected sometime this year. Besides music, Wilson had received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019 and received an honor for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. She also currently serves as Governor for the Actors Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
