Rihanna has had plenty of her hits in her time and many have come in the past few months. Who doesn’t love recent hits of hers with Drake or a solo single like “Needed Me?” Well, these hits are great, but not near as close to as good as “Only Girl (In the World)” to us at least. And amazingly, this song is celebrated six years of being around a few days ago. Sept. 10 is the birth date of the release and was the lead single off her album, “Loud.”
What kind of accolades did the song end up with? In 2011, it won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording and would go on to win awards at the 2011 Soul Train Awards and BMI Awards among others. The song would end up at the top of over 20 different charts across the globe, a truly amazing feat.
Rihanna would perform this hit at many different shows like X Factor, the 31st Brit Awards and Saturday Night Live as well.
