Remembering Kenny Loggin’s Impact to Movies with His Music

Kenny Loggins was on AXS TV a few weeks ago with a music special called “Kenny Loggins and Friends,” reminding all of us of his prolific songwriting and contributions to movies.

Kenny Loggins gave us many great movie songs – “Footloose” from movie of same name, “Danger Zone” from the ‘Top Gun’ movie, and of course “I’m Alright” from another spectacular film ‘Caddyshack,’ were popular tunes in memorable Hollywood movies. Did you know that Eddie Money sang background in most if not all these songs?

We[ve mentioned the well known tunes that have been part of movie scores, but “Footloose” another Grammy winner, became part of the score in the soundtrack of that movie that introduced Kenny’s “I’m Free.” In addition, Bonnie Tyler and Denise Williams scored with popular songs on this soundtrack, and in the movie.

In the movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ which just opened, and in the original film from a few years ago, you’ll find songs from Sweet, Fleetwood Mac, Blue Swede, 10cc, The Raspberries, Norman Greenbaum, David Bowie, The Runaways, Aerosmith and more.
