Remembering Estelle Harris, “Seinfeld” and “Toy Story” Star

Estelle Harris, best known for her roles as George Costanza’s mother on Seinfeld and the voice of Mrs. Potato Head in Toy Story, has died of natural causes. She was 93.

Harris was born in New York in 1928 and didn’t pursue acting until later in life, making her debut in 1977’s Looking Up. Over the years, the charismatic actress obtained roles in many animated shows and movies, including the Hercules cartoon, Futurama, and Disney’s Kim Possible.

“One of my favorite people has passed – my tv mama, Estelle Harris,” Jason Alexander tweeted after the news was revealed. “The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat. I adore you, Estelle. Love to your family. Serenity now and always.

Harris’ final credited film role was her voice-acting as Mrs. Potato Head in Toy Story 4.
