The 2023 NFL Draft has come to an end, and it’s time to evaluate which teams came out on top and which ones are left with more questions than answers. In this article, we will be ranking every team’s 2023 NFL Draft class based on the players they selected and the needs they filled.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers had one of the best drafts this year, selecting players that will fill immediate needs on both sides of the ball. Linebacker Isaiah Cook from Alabama was a steal in the second round, and offensive tackle Marcus Wilkerson from Wisconsin will be a great addition to the offensive line. Overall, the Steelers’ draft class was a huge success.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts had a strong draft, filling needs at defensive end, cornerback, and tight end. They selected defensive end Alex Mitchell from LSU in the first round, and he is expected to make an immediate impact on the pass rush. Cornerback Noah Williams from Ohio State and tight end Jack Sullivan from Notre Dame were also great picks.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens addressed their needs on both sides of the ball, selecting wide receiver Andrew Matthews from Clemson in the first round and linebacker Xavier Simpson from Georgia in the second. They also added depth to the offensive line and secondary, making this a well-rounded draft class.
New England Patriots
The Patriots focused on the offensive side of the ball, selecting quarterback Logan Thompson from Alabama in the first round and wide receiver Tyler Wright from Ohio State in the second. They also added depth at running back and offensive line, making this a strong draft class.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars had a solid draft, selecting defensive end Joshua Johnson from Texas A&M in the first round and offensive tackle Jacoby Collins from Oklahoma in the second. They also added depth at linebacker and wide receiver, making this a well-rounded draft class.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The defending Super Bowl champions had a decent draft, selecting defensive end Dylan Martinez from Clemson in the first round and safety Ethan Parker from Georgia in the second. They also added depth at running back and offensive line, but could have done more to address their needs at cornerback.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers had a strong draft, selecting cornerback Marcus Johnson from LSU in the first round and wide receiver Jordan Lee from Alabama in the second. They also added depth at offensive tackle and linebacker, making this a well-rounded draft class.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys focused on the defensive side of the ball, selecting linebacker Connor Jones from Georgia in the first round and cornerback Marcus White from Ohio State in the second. They also added depth at defensive end and safety, making this a strong draft class.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins had a solid draft, selecting defensive end Ethan Carter from Florida State in the first round and offensive tackle Isaiah Wright from USC in the second. They also added depth at cornerback and wide receiver, making this a well-rounded draft class.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals had a decent draft, selecting linebacker Jacob Martinez from Notre Dame in the first round and offensive tackle Tyler Jackson from Alabama in the second. They also added depth at defensive end and safety, but could have done more to address their needs at wide receiver.
Overall, this year’s NFL Draft was filled with surprises, steals, and some questionable picks. Only time will tell which teams made the right decisions and which ones will be left with more questions than answers.
