The Detroit Pistons’ recent game against the Brooklyn Nets garnered significant attention, not for the Nets’ performance, but to see if the Pistons would set a new NBA record for the longest single-season losing streak.
Despite a valiant effort led by Cade Cunningham’s impressive 41 points, the Pistons succumbed to their 27th consecutive defeat, surpassing the previous record held by the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers.
This loss places the Pistons in a challenging position as they face the Boston Celtics next, with the unwanted prospect of tying the all-time NBA losing streak record looming over them.
