Recently, Paul McCartney has been in the news, baring his soul on what it was like to be a member of the greatest band ever, from humble beginnings to the break up, the loss of a spouse and continued rumors about the breakup.
Paul confesses turning to the bottle shortly after the break-up, Paul also mentions that, then wife Linda was just awful on stage, but glad that Wings was formed, giving her a chance to join the band.
In the final somber reveal to a BBC radio host recently, Paul admits distance between he and John after the split in the early 70s, but he and John were able to reconcile a few years before John was murdered. Paul says he is very grateful that the two were able to mend fences before his untimely death.
Paul and John wrote the memorable song “Yesterday” in 1965. It’s reported that the recording has been played over 75 million times, and has generated over $40 million in song royalties – jus that song!
