Patriots Headed for Another Super Bowl?

We are at the midway point of the NFL season with week nine being upon us. There have been many surprises and many disappointments, but all that really matters is who will be making the playoffs. If the season ended today who would be playing extra football? Let’s take a look…

The AFC, to no one’s surprise, is led by the New England Patriots. Even though Tom Brady missed the first four games, they are 7-1 and leading the AFC. The Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos hold the second best records in conference as they sit at 6-2. As for the final three teams to make the playoffs if the season ended today, well they would be the Chiefs, Texans and Steelers.

The NFC gets really tricky because just about everyone is sitting at 4-3 it feels like. While the Cowboys and Vikings are sitting at the top with 6-1 records, there are five teams with three losses. The Seahawks are 4-2-1 and then the Falcons (5-3), Packers (4-3), Giants (4-3), Eagles (4-3) and Redskins (4-3-1) all have three losses. It’s going to get really interesting as the season progresses that’s for sure.
