Ozzy Osbourne is about to receive yet another award, honoring his contributions to music by receiving the 2018 ‘Metal Hammer Golden Gods’ award in London on June 11th. Others that have been honored with the prestigious ‘Metal Hammer Golden Gods’ award are Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, Lemmy, and Rob Zombie.
Ozzy could use some good news this week as he finds himself embroiled in a legal battle with attorneys for AEG asking the courts to dismiss his anti-trust lawsuit, which is challenging the promoter’s policy that requires bands who play London’s O2 Arena to also have to play Staples Center in Los Angeles. In essence, the combatants claim Ozzy has no standing to bring the lawsuit. Ozzy is currently in the middle of his final world tour, playing Russia recently, getting standing room only crowds for his ‘Nor More Tours 2’ tour, returning to the states in August.
