Neil Young will perform at Live Aid in Hartford, CT and has just wrapped up a mostly acoustic tour with a few stops in early July. Neil is also in the upcoming film called ‘Paradox’ a movie directed by Daryl Hannah his girlfriend. Here are a few of our favorite Neil Young songs…
The song “Needle and the Damage Done” was written and released in 1972, inspired by the drug addiction of longtime Crazy Horse member and friend Danny Whitten would eventually die of the addition. The song remains relevant today for anyone who has witnessed or battled addition.
“Old Man,” “Heart of Gold,” and “Man Needs a Maid’ all come from the 1972 ‘Harvest’ album, the LP that solidified Neil as the talent he is thought of today. What makes these songs memorable are the musicians that made the tunes; James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
