If you grew up a little girl in America you probably owned a Barbie, a wonderful child’s doll manufactured and merited by Mattel. Now we hear that the toy company will be reproducing and marketing its own ‘diversity and forward thinking Barbie in the image and likeness of Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Oprah available in stores February 23rd.
The film ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ stars each of the three women icons, and Mattel has decided to jump into the pop manufacturing game with its introduction of what they’re calling their A Wrinkle in Time series, with the debut characters of Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling. The suggested retail price of the special Barbie’s will be $50, and Mattel expects a high demand for the dolls.
The film ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ which is set to open in early February, deals with the futuristic storyline of the disappearance of a notable and the journey our the upcoming Barbie’s to find him.
