Sherri Young, the instructor for a program called “THRIVE” by the group At The Table in Ohio is helping girls make the right choices. In the class there are twenty girls taking part in learning that they are valued, no matter what. Young said that THRIVE stands for, “Transcending Her real-life issues victoriously through empowerment.”
Young continued to say that the main purpose of the program is to keep girls out of trouble by showing them they can instead accomplish their goals. “We live with issues and challenges so it’s about getting beyond that,” Young stated.
