“No regrets” Says David Lee Roth as He Announces Retirement

Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth announces his retirement, telling fans, “I’ve given you all I’ve got to give,” and admitting to facing mortality at the loss of Eddie Van Halen just this past year.

Now 66, Roth was the lead singer of Van Halen across three stints, most recently fronting the hard rock band for its final, highest-grossing stretch into 2020 after rejoining in 2006. While he was a successful solo artist from the 80s to now, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the other members of Van Halen in 2017.

“These are my last five shows,” Diamond Dave declares of his final leg of scheduled shows. He is still set to put on a handful of performances around New Year’s, both leaving 2021 and entering 2022 with a grand finale.
