We don’t know why it took so long, but Neil Young has finally been admitted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the ceremonies were held in Toronto this week. French Canadian singer Stéphane Venne, Bruce Cockburn, and the French Canadian band Beau Dommage were also inducted this year in the songwriter hall.
David Foster, Burton Cummings, Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Paul Anka, Randy Bachman, and Anne Murray are other recognizable artists who are in the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Neil penned a ton of great songs, including “Heart of Hold,” “Man Needs a Maid,” “The Needle and the Damage Done,” and “Ohio” to name just a few.
Congratulations to Neil Young for being recognized as one of the best songwriters of all time, in the USA and with our great friends to the north Canada.
