Neil Young Halts “Love Earth” Tour Due to Illness

Neil Young, the legendary 78-year-old musician, announced an “unplanned break” in his “Love Earth” tour with Crazy Horse on Wednesday. The hiatus is due to illness among several band members, as revealed in a heartfelt message posted on Young’s website.

“The Love Earth Tour has been a great experience for us so far,” Young wrote. “GREAT AUDIENCES AND MUSIC. WE HAVE HAD A BLAST!”

However, the joy was cut short when sickness struck the band after their performance at Detroit’s Pine Knob. “When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop,” Young explained. “We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again!”

Young expressed his apologies to fans who had made travel plans to see the shows. “We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience. Health is #1,” he emphasized.

The message concluded with a note of optimism and gratitude: “We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you… and for us. With love and thanks to all of you from Crazy Horse….. Neil, Micah, Ralph and Billy Love Earth.”

Fans quickly took to social media to share their disappointment and concern. “Neil canceling the rest of his tour is a bummer,” one follower posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Hope everyone is better sooner than later.” Another fan expressed gratitude for having attended the Detroit show: “S—. Feeling grateful to have caught that Pine Knob show. Hope everything is okay.”

This summer has seen other tour cancellations as well, including country music star Mark Chesnutt, who recently announced a pause in his tour due to emergency quadruple bypass surgery.

With fans eagerly awaiting their return, Young and Crazy Horse’s health remains the top priority, ensuring they can continue to share their music for years to come.
