Music groups and litigation go hand in hand. Recently a relatively unknown opening band called the Raskins, who spent the better part of 2014 kicking off the Motley Crue tour, has brought the Crue to court, claiming money owed. At the heart of the lawsuit, lawyers for the Raskins claim they did not receive the money and benefits that were negotiated before the tour began.
The Raskins lawsuit is asking for $30 million in damages. In addition, the lawsuit also claims that the Raskins didn’t get the dressing rooms they negotiated, nor were they allowed to sell T-Shirts or other merchandise on the tour. On a personal affront, the Raskins claim emotional damage caused by the Crue spraying them with urine at one of the tour stops in Connecticut. The $30 million they seek seems a tad high, but after hearing about the emotional damage they suffered we’re beginning to rethink that number!
