More Gotta Have Albums From Our Favorite Rockers

Everyone has a habit; chocolate, coffee, cigarettes are examples of guilty pleasure that we just can’t put down. Imagine you’re giving the choice of your favorite albums to take in seclusion for a very long time. Which do you take? Here’s our latest ‘Gotta Haves.’

“Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen may be the turning point in rock, pushing the boss to heights never achieved by modern day rockers. There could easily be eight classic songs on the album, frankly it may be the only piece of evidence you would need in a court of rock and roll law to win your case.

“Pet Sounds” by the Beach Boys is 50 years old and demonstrates the real genius of Brian Wilson. This album influenced the Beatles and every band that picked up an instrument after hearing this album.

“At Fillmore East” recorded in 1971 over three days by the Allman Brothers did three things; it proved that double albums were commercially viable, live albums could be just as popular as studio albums, and thirdly the point that it was the quality of the songs on the album, not the amount. This classic album contained only seven songs!

How could you not take the classic “Led Zeppelin IV” by Led Zeppelin to your island? “Stairway” is reason enough. “Black Dog” and “Rock and Roll” are bonus babies.

“Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd – the best ever – classic – no reasons needed – period – no discussion.
