The Great North or Canada as we say it has always contributed wonderful rockers. We bet you didn’t know the following were from Canada…
Neil Young from ‘Crosby Stills Nash and Young was born in Toronto in 1945. Neil’s father grew to star status as a writer and sports writer, while his mother remained devoted to the family until a bitter divorce when Neil was still quite young. Neil’s musical roots began as an original member of ‘Buffalo Springfield,’ a band that put he and Stephen Stills together. Neil went solo in 1968 as Neil Young and Crazy Horse, until the union of Graham Nash and David Crosby for CSNY.
Everyone can name Rush and BTO as Canadian bands, but did you know that the following bands either were from Canada, or its driving members were predominantly from Canada: April Wine, Steppenwolf, The Band, Jeff Healey, Chilliwack, Glass Tiger, and the Stampeders are part of the proud Canadian music heritage.
