Monday’s Music Headlines

There aren’t that many shopping days till Christmas, so be sure to check that gift list for your upcoming trek to the stores. It’s Monday, let’s share a few music news headlines…

There may never be another Woodstock music festival, but the lineup for the 2017 Mountain Jam, in upstate New York was recently announced. They headliners for this festival are Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Steve Miller Band, and Peter Frampton.

James Taylor. Jimmy Buffett, Sarah McLachlan and others will be performing a special show at the Barclays Center called “Holiday in Brooklyn” December 9th.

Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke is a talented musician, playing multiple instruments over the years. Simon recently announced the completion of his solo LP “Because of You” scheduled for a February release.

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart just released a new home video this week called “Live at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,” documenting Heart’s first performance at one of the most historic venues in all of rock.

Birthdays this week include Little Richard, Jim Messina, Tom Waits, Dickey Betts, Joan Armatrading, and David Gates.
