Monday’s Best Music Headlines

It’s another Monday, our favorite day of the week. Don’t forget Mother’s day is May 14th, next Sunday! Here are your music headlines to kick off the week…

The Eagles are taking a Mexican hotel to court, claiming their use of their song “Hotel California” is an infringement of their work. The hotel complex not only calls itself improperly (according to the Eagles), but actually blasts Eagles songs in the hallways, implying the bands endorsement of the complex.

Mario Maglieri, the businessman that owned the iconic Los Angeles nightclubs ‘Whiskey A Go Go,’ ‘The Rainbow Bar,’ and the ‘Roxy Theatre,’ has died at the age of 93. Each of these venues were influential in that our most popular bands made their bones at these locations. The Byrds, Bruce Springsteen, Guns N’ Roses, The Doors and more all consider these clubs significant in finding their musical voice.

If you’re a Metallica fan listen up; the band will stream a rehearsal, their last rehearsal before the upcoming tour, live on their Facebook page. The upcoming tour begins in Baltimore the following day at M&T Bank Stadium. The streaming is scheduled for May 9th, 9pm Est. Fans are encouraged to donate to the bands favorite charity ‘All Within My Hands’ foundation during the live stream. Don’t miss it – May 9th, 9 pm EST from their official Metallica Facebook page.
