According to cbssports.com, no team was more dependable across all sports in the previous athletic season then Michigan Wolverines. With 588.50 points, the Wolverines took home first place for 2021-2022, earning themselves the Best in College Sports award for the second time in the previous three seasons. UM is the first two time winner of the award in its 8 year existence. The Fighting Irish were in second place with only 512.50 points far behind Michigan, with Ohio third with 506.75 points total. The football team had a 12-2 season under Jim Harbaugh even reaching the playoffs, Men’s Basketball went 19-15 and reached the NCAA Sweet 16, women’s basketball went 25-7 and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. While wrestling went 12-1, finishing as a NCAA runner-up, and men’s gymnastics finishing third nationally, Men’s Hockey reaching the Frozen Four, and women’s gymnastics ranking seventh nationally. The college put up fantastic numbers in almost every category of sports, and is said to attempt to win the award once again next year.
