Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

We hope you’re having a wonderful holiday, and Christmas Day for sure. What were the best movies made about Christmas, or made for the holidays? Check out our list and see if we didn’t mention your favorite?

The 1947 Hollywood classic ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ starring Edmund Gwenn, with special guest Natalie Wood as a child remains our favorite.

‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ starring Jimmy Stewart is simply the holiday movie that will give eternal hope and shine its bright light on the darkest of troubles.

‘Home Alone’ with child star Macaulay Culkin, and directed by the legendary Macaulay Culkin is the benchmark of classic holiday films.

‘A Christmas Story’ from 1983 started out as a cult favorite and has turned into a holiday classic.
‘White Christmas’ with Bing Crosby, reminds a war-weary post-WWII world that miracles do happen.

Let’s give shout-outs to Will Ferrell and what may be his best acting performance in ‘Elf’, the Schultz classic animated ‘Charlie Brown Christmas,’ and the original Charles Dickens adaption of the 1938, the 1951, and the 2009 ‘A Christmas Carol’. We happen to think the original 1938 Reginald Owen, Gene Lockhart version is the best.
