If you don’t know it by now, today is a special holiday for many people everywhere. It’s May the fourth! Let’s celebrate it by taking a look at the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.
The Force Awakens was released in December of 2015 and was a huge hit at the box office. In fact, it was the highest grossing movie of the entire Star Wars series. It’s the third highest grossing movie ever, bringing in over $2 billion worldwide.
Not surpisingly, this movie has been nominated for many awards. It had five nominations at the Academy Awards and four nominations at the British Academy Film awards.
Stars from The Force Awakens include Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac among many others.
Don’t worry Star Wars fans, there are two sequels on the horizon. They are expected to be released in 2017 and 2019.
