Madonna Is Proud of Her Daughter’s Debut Song Release

According to billboard.com, in a recent Instagram story, Madonna talked about how happy she was that her daughter Lourdes Leon is following in her path after she released her debut single, “Lock&Key,” on Wednesday, August 24th. Madonna also posted a screenshot of the cover artwork for Leon’s dance track while tagging her daughter’s account in the post along with a red heart emoji alongside the words, I am so proud of you Lola!.”

Leon was on the cover of Vogue in August of last year along with Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, and other models, and revealed how she payed for her own college tuition and is quoted in saying, “People think I’m this talentless rich kid who’s had everything given to her, but I’m not.” The month after that, she spoke with Interview about what it was like to grow up with Madonna as a parent, where she said, “She’s very much like, ‘Proceed with caution and think about what you want to be known for,’ My mom is very insistent on making me think about what I want to be known for beyond my looks. That’s not what I want people to remember me by. It’s not real.”
