Lorde Postpones Tour Dates Due to COVD-19 Travel Restrictions

Due to travel restrictions being so uncertain for the upcoming year, Lorde has decided to delay the first leg of her 2022 tour. The pop star was hoping to begin the tour in her native New Zealand and is “beyond devastated” to postpone the notion to 2023.

“Starting the tour in New Zealand was always really important to me, and would have been a huge high,” the singer lamented in a statement.

“I fought this decision for a long time,” she continued. “But the truth is that touring internationally through a COVID outbreak has a ton of unforeseen moving parts, and I’d much rather play for you when we’re all confident it will go smoothly.”

Not all is lost, as Lorde also shared that she will be adding more shows at sold-out locations in both New Zealand and Australia, with full refunds and transferable tickets available for all current ticket-holders.

Lorde shared last month that she was feeling “lonely” due to the lack of performing and touring in her life; unfortunately, she and her fans will have to continue to wait for their reunion. She expressed her sadness to her fans, saying: “I want to apologise wholeheartedly to the fans. I’m so gutted to let you down, but so grateful for your understanding.”
