Little Mix is now in the mix with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj

Buried in Cardi B’s historic 10-part dunk on Nicki Minaj (via Instagram posts Monday night) is a note she made about Minaj’s new song with British girl group Little Mix, titled “Woman Like Me.” Cardi claimed that because she stayed in her lane and didn’t hop on the clubby pop song when it was allegedly offered to her, producers then shopped it around and that’s how it ended up going to Minaj. And now Little Mix is part of this narrative.

“That ‘Woman Like Me’ record? Yeah, I had to decline it because I’m doing a lot of pop records, so I can’t, you know, over-exaggerate myself. But that came to me first, and then they give it to you,” Cardi stated in one of her videos.

Now, Little Mix is disputing that Cardi was approached first.

“Both were approached by our label to work with us on Woman Like Me, Nicki then Cardi,” they wrote in a tweet. “We went with Nicki because like we’ve said over and over for years, it’s been a dream of ours to work with her since the beginning. We have nothing but love and positivity for both Nicki and Cardi.” On Instagram, they also posted an image that read “Sorry Cardi hun but this is the T,” and then has the tea emoji. “We’ve always wanted the queen.”
