This weekend, Hollywood releases the reprise of ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ starring Kenneth Branagh, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, and legendary British star Judi Dench. Let’s learn more about one of the UK’s brightest stars over the past 4 decades, Judi Dench.
Judi began acting in the late 50s, performing in iconic Shakespeare plays through the houses in London. She had been an unknown actress to American audiences until her role in ‘A Room With a View’ in 1985. Judi earned an Academy Award for her role in ‘Shakespeare in Love’ in 1998 and has been nominated six additional times for an Oscar.
Her most popular role in film may be that of the James Bond character ‘M,’ opposite Daniel Craig, but she prefers to tout her films ‘My Week with Marilyn,’ ‘Philomena,’ and ‘Victoria & Abdul’ released this year; each of these films thrusting her into international acclaim.
