At the end of November, Virgil Abloh, the acclaimed menswear designer and artistic director for Louis Vuitton and Off-White founder, died of cancer. He was 41-years-old, with an influence that spanned across music, fashion, and contemporary social culture.
A private funeral for Abloh took place earlier this week at the Museum of Contemporary Art in his hometown of Chicago. In attendance were a number of notable names from the realms in which Abloh’s influence reverberated, including Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Drake, A$AP Rocky, Rhianna, Tyler, the Creator, Kid Cudi, Frank Ocean, Vic Mensa, Kendall Jenner, Don C, Jerry Lorenzo, and many more.
At the service, Lauryn Hill gave a touching performance of “Everything Is Everything,” and Tyler, the Creator offered an emotional, tear-filled eulogy about his friendship with Abloh.
