Kristin Davis Speaks Out Against Body and Age Criticism: “It Makes Me Angry”

Returning to screens as Sex and the City’s Charlotte York Goldenblatt at 55-year-old in the series’ reprise And Just Like That, Kristin Davis has been yet another actress under scrutiny for her weight and age—compared to how she used to look at 30.

Now 56, Davis is frustrated with social media comments and paparazzi attacking her with harsh criticisms, efforts to snap “bad pictures” of the stars on set, and overall unwanted attention.

“Everyone wants to comment, pro or nay or whatever, on our hair and our faces and our this and our that. The level of intensity of it was a shock,” she shared in a recent interview. “I feel angry and I don’t want to feel angry all the time, so I don’t look at it, I just know it’s there.”

“They would write articles every week about how I was ‘pear-shaped,’ which I didn’t feel was a compliment at the time,” she continued, reflecting back on her time on the original run of Sex and the City nearly twenty years ago. “It would stress me out a fair amount because I couldn’t avoid it. I kind of feel like that’s how it is now too. But I also feel — I’m going to be blunt — I feel like, ‘F*** you. F*** you people, like, come over here and do it better.’”
