During a recent performance at the O2 Apollo in Manchester, England, Keith Urban made a special tribute to the late Naomi Judd, who unexpectedly died by suicide just this past week.
“I want to send a quick and very heartfelt acknowledgment out to the late great, very influential Naomi Judd,” Urban said. “What The Judds did was astounding through the ’80s, and she was the queen and the matriarch of it all. And she wrote this song, which is pretty amazing.”
The country star then proceeded to cover The Judds’ 1990 hit “Love Can Build a Bridge.”
Urban posted a clip of the performance on Instagram, sharing more touching words with his followers and fans.
“Naomi Judd sowed so many important seeds in her precious time here. Here’s one of the many,” he wrote. “On the other side of the world in Manchester tonight they were all singing ‘Love Can Build a Bridge.’ Thank you Naomi. We love you.”
