Katy Perry Teases Fans with Snippets from Upcoming Dance Album “143”

Fresh off the announcement of her sixth studio album “143,” Katy Perry delighted fans by sharing snippets of new songs during a live session across her social media profiles. The album, set to drop on September 20, is described by Perry as a dance album—something she’s “always wanted to make.”

In an Instagram Live session, Perry explained her long-standing desire to create a dance album. “I’ve been talking about [doing] two albums the past eight years, and that’s a dance album and an acoustic album,” she said. “I haven’t yet made the acoustic album. Well, we never stop writing. But I finally made the dance album, the album I always wanted to make.”

Perry described the album as “super high energy, super summer, and very high BPM.” She added, “We just had a family dance party to one of the songs, and it’s just full of so much joy, so much love, so much light.”

During the live session, Perry previewed three songs from “143” while signing vinyl inserts for fans. The first song, “I’m His He’s Mine” featuring Doechii, includes a sample of Crystal Waters’ 1991 hit “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless).” She followed with an upbeat track titled “Nirvana” and another energetic song, “Gimme Gimme” featuring 21 Savage.

“‘143’ is honestly a dance party,” Perry shared on TikTok. “All fandoms, invited. And it’s high energy, lots of love, mostly lots of love and BPM, summer, sexy. And it’s for y’all.”

Perry initially teased this upcoming era last month by announcing that the first single, “Woman’s World,” will be released on July 11 along with a music video. Though no tour has been officially announced yet, Perry hinted on TikTok that she has cleared her schedule to potentially tour in the near future.

Fans can expect a vibrant, joyful, and high-energy experience with “143,” promising to be the dance album Katy Perry has always envisioned.
