Kanye West Wants a New Kid Cudi Album

On Monday, September 9th, Kid Cudi graced the cover of the latest issue of Complex where he detailed what fans can expect from the project, in addition to confirming plans for a Kids See Ghosts sequel with Kanye West.

“My next album will be the music for the first season of the show, and the music will narrate the story,” he said of the effort. “So a lot of the songs aren’t really from the Scott perspective; they’re from the perspective of the character.”

The Cleveland native, who admitted he debated taking off for five years from music, explained that “a lot of the songs will be about relationships and love,” but strictly from an imaginative standpoint through his character in the show, as Cudder jokes he hasn’t had a ton of success with his love life.

“I’m not somebody who makes lovey-dovey songs like that,” Cudi stated. “I’ve just never really had much luck in relationships, so I’ve never had anything to write from. And if I did write about my relationships, it would’ve been all disasters.”

There will also be times on the project where Cudi just gets back to effortlessly rapping much like his mixtape days. “It’s just Cudi having fun again, and I think people miss that side of me,” said the 35-year-old. “I used to do that a lot on my mixtape, so getting back into that was fun, and I think people are gonna be into it.”

As far as a Kids See Ghosts update, the plan is still to do more, but work hasn’t started just yet on the sequel. “There will be more Kids See Ghosts albums. Kanye already told me he wants to start working on the second one,” Cudi said.

Kid Cudi is set to release his next album titled Entergalactic alongside the Kenya Barris-produced Netflix series in 2020.
